New Teacher Orientation
This year, we welcomed our new Value Schools educators with a comprehensive week-long orientation. This program was designed to immerse them in our values, culture, and the foundational principles of building strong academic classrooms. The orientation focused on:
- Value Schools' core values and culture
- Strategies for creating respectful and empathetic classroom environments
- School policies and procedures
- Effective instructional strategies and curriculum frameworks
Focus for the School Year: Data-Driven Instruction and Vision Setting
As we look ahead, Loreen and our instructional leaders are excited to introduce a new focus for the school year: data-driven instruction and vision setting. By leveraging data, we aim to better understand our students' needs, tailor our teaching methods to accommodate individual learning styles, track student progress more effectively, and make informed decisions that support student growth and success. In addition to this data-driven approach, we will engage in a collaborative vision-setting process. This will involve setting clear, achievable goals for our schools, aligning our efforts with our mission, and ensuring that every member of our community is working towards a shared vision of academic excellence.
New Academic Team
We are proud to announce the formation of our first academic team within the network office, funded through the Value Schools Foundation from two donors. The team, led by Chief Academic Officer Carmen Vazquez, includes two new positions – a math coach and a special education coordinator – each dedicated to supporting our educators.
